SAGACIOUS JOY, aka Dee Galloway, is the Rally Coordinator and will act as Rally Emcee. Powerhouse civil rights activist and LGBT ally DANI NEWSUM will be the rally keynote speaker. Rally entertainment includes drummers DI MAPES & Friends, spoken word artist LADYSPEECH SANKOFA and MORE! DDOB has been working with both The Center and Charlie's Denver and is appreciative of the space given by Charlie's both for the Rally and to stage the bikes. We will have a parking manager and volunteers on site, so ride on down for the Rally. MARCH At 5pm, half of Colfax will be shut down and DOB will lead the Dyke March to Civic Center Park and we will park the bikes in the middle of Broadway to enjoy the evenings entertainment with Shelvis & Friends, Chasing Jenny and MORE on the Main Stage.
 PRIDEFEST DENVER PRIDE PARADE ON SUNDAY, JUNE 28th
Website: Denver Pridefest (http://www.glbtcolorado.org/renderContent.aspx?contentId=16) This is the 7th largest Pride Parade in the country with 75 - 100 thousand people up early Sunday morning to cheer on 120 parade entries from all over the Western region. We know many of you are very excited about participating in the parade this year. The Pridefest Denver Parade Committee gave us an earful of rules. RIDING UNITY MOTORCYCLE GROUP proudly leads off the 2009 Pridefest Denver Pride Parade, comprised of:
- Denver Dykes on Bikes Independents, or non club affiliated, to the back. No hot dogging, hold your assigned riding position. Please try to keep clean, gaily rigid alignment. LINE-UP Parade Section: White; Lineup Position: 1 The only entrance to Cheesman that will be open on Sunday morning is at 11th Avenue and Race Street. We MUST be in position by 8:30 AM, or you will be put at the back of the parade. Groups entering the park after their assigned time may not be allowed to move into their assigned position. For the third year in a row, the Grrls and Boyz will be riding together, side by side and as we have been doing, simply trading sides. The Boyz will be on the left and the Grrls on the right for '09. RMMC Officers and Trail boss will lead the boyz, with club flags / colors etc. DDOB is VERY PROUD to have the family and friends of our lost VP, Phil Pevler, carrying our banner with the officers of DDOB right behind the banner, Pres, VP & Treasurer. Parade formation is four across (2 girls / 2 bois) and filled in with 4 across after that (most likely the girls will fill in behind the boys after the initial lineup, with four across. We invite all grrls to ride so please show your respect for the invitation to those groups who paid for and organized the motorcycles this year. IF there are 'visitors' at the Basilica on Colfax, smile & wave, smile & wave, smile & wave, & keep on going, or rev your engine so you can't hear them :-) There will be parade announcers in two location, in front of Charlie's and at Colfax & Broadway, you might wanna tone the revving of the engines down at those locations to let the crowd hear our group announcement. HOUSE CLEANING Remember to come with a full tank and empty bladder, dress appropriately (cool morning line up in shade and then hot ride and day events). Bring sunscreen, and water. No alcohol allowed at the parade staging in Cheesman. Handouts are allowed, but not to be thrown. The City charges dollars for cleanup, so hold your trash or use the provided cans. Additionally, you will NOT be solicited to cover the parade application, it has already been paid. If you would like to make a donation, make it to the GLBTCCC, aka The Center, or ATL Foundation, Colorado AIDS Project or Colorado Anti-Violence Project. PARKING No parking allowed on 14th Avenue between Broadway and Lincoln. No parking on the sidewalks or grass. There may be parking behind the stage at 14th and Broadway. This option was discussed, but not promised since they are not making accommodations for anyone else to park. BREAKFAST DDOB will meet at Pete's Kitchen at Colfax & Race at 7 AM for breakfast, please do join. If you can't make it that early, we plan on pulling out of the parking lot there as a group around 8. There is additional parking on all corners at Colfax & Race as a back up.
